Lynn Cline

Ms. Cline is NASA’s Deputy Associate Administrator for Space Operations. In this capacity, she is responsible for oversight of a broad variety of capabilities across the NASA spectrum of space operations programs, which includes the Space Shuttle, the International Space Station, space communications and navigation, acquisition of commercial launch services for NASA missions, and crew health and safety.

From June 1997 to March 2003, Ms. Cline was Deputy Assistant Administrator for External Relations. In this capacity, she was responsible for NASA’s interaction with Executive Branch offices and agencies and for international relations. Ms. Cline led U.S. delegations to the United Nations Committee on Peaceful Uses of Outer Space.

Ms. Cline was Director, Space Flight Division, Office of External Relations, November 1993 - June 1997. Ms. Cline was the NASA lead negotiator of the agreements with Canada, Europe, Japan and Russia for the International Space Station, which were concluded in January 1998.
Prior to that, she held a variety of positions in support of NASA’s international relations, negotiating many agreements, including the agreement with the European Space Agency for the Cassini/Huygens mission to Saturn and its moon Titan.

Ms. Cline received the Rotary National Stellar Award for Space Achievement in 2009 and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) International Cooperation Award in 1998. She was also selected for the Presidential Rank of Meritorious Executive in 1997 and 2004. She is a Fellow of the American Astronautical Society, an Associate Fellow of the AIAA and a Member of the International Academy of Astronautics. Ms. Cline received her B.A. from East Carolina University in 1976 and her M.A. from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1979 in French language and culture.
