Guillermo Söhnlein

He is currently co-founder of OceanGate, which organizes "citizen scientist" expeditions to provide free underwater technology platforms to university-based deep ocean researchers. His recent ventures include a sports intelligence and collaboration system for athletes, an online service helping commuters to share rides, a mobile games distribution platform, and a Web-based communication suite for small and mid-sized businesses. Previously, he was co-founder of a San Francisco-based speech recognition application development firm that was acquired in 2001.
Guillermo is the Founder and Managing Director of Space Angels Network, a national group of accredited investors focused on early-stage aerospace opportunities. He is also Founder and Chairman of the International Association of Space Entrepreneurs, an online community focused on promoting global entrepreneurship in space ventures. He served on active duty in the United States Marine Corps as a Judge Advocate and currently serves on various Advisory Boards and teaches entrepreneurship.
Guillermo earned an A.B. in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley and a J.D. from the University of California Hastings College of the Law.
