Dr. Andrea Harrington is a medical geologist and the Sample Return Curation Integration Lead at NASA's Johnson Space Center. Her research focuses on understanding how planetary materials interact with and affect the human body, helping to inform the safety of sample return and future human exploration missions. Dr. Harrington previously served as the Mars Sample Return Curation Lead, developing the protocols and infrastructure needed to safely receive, curate, and study samples returned from Mars. Through her work at the intersection of planetary science, human health, and exploration, Dr. Harrington helps prepare for humanity's next steps on the Red Planet.
